The fight against malnutrition at the heart of PSE's mission
Since its creation, the PSE canteen has played an essential role in ensuring the nutrition, health, and well-being of beneficiaries.
Every day, more than 6,000 meals are prepared for around 3,500 beneficiaries, designed with the support of the medical team to be complete, balanced, and adapted to the nutritional needs of children.
A necessary renovation
Built in 2005 to accommodate 3,700 children, the canteen was reaching its limits with twice as many beneficiaries and aging infrastructure.
Despite several expansions over the years, it no longer met health requirements or current volumes, jeopardizing PSE's ability to guarantee healthy, high-quality meals.
In 2024, PSE therefore launched a redevelopment project at a total cost of over €84,000.
Technical optimization
In concrete terms, the project has made it possible to modernize and reorganize workspaces to improve operational efficiency and sanitary conditions during the preparation and distribution of meals to children, while respecting the association's environmental commitment.

The main improvements also include the renovation of floors and roofs, improved ventilation, and the installation of new washing equipment.
A major impact
This renovation has had a major positive impact.
For the beneficiaries, it guarantees access to balanced and nutritious meals, essential to their health and development, in optimal sanitary conditions.
The renovation also makes it possible to prepare and distribute meals in a way that is more in line with PSE's environmental commitments, thanks to better resource management and modernized facilities.
Finally, for employees, this project has significantly improved their working conditions, providing them with a safer, more functional environment that is better suited to the demands of their daily work.
This project was led by the canteen team, made up of 34 people. It embodies PSE's commitment to ensuring the well-being of children, protecting the environment, and supporting its teams so that each beneficiary continues to receive the “meal a day” that is essential to their development.
A big thank you to our valued donors at the BEL Foundation for their trust and commitment, which made this project possible!
