Scout Facilitator
Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) - For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, operating in Cambodia since 1995. Its mission is to help children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well-paid jobs.
Recognized by the local authorities, PSE is working in respect of the country with the Cambodians and thus supports sustainable development.
Six main programs – adapted to the needs of the children – have been developed: food, health, protection, education & schooling, vocational training and help for families.
PSE helps more than 6,500 children and more than 6,000 graduates from PSE Vocational Training program graduates have already successfully integrated the job market with a real qualified position. PSE employs more than 650 people in Cambodia (Phnom Penh mainly) and 6 staff at the headquarters in France. 400 volunteers in different countries are actively working on making the organization known through fundraising donations and sponsorships.
In 2000, PSE received the French Human Rights Prize from the French Republic.

This position will be responsible of:
- Facilitate the scout leaders (PSE students) of the activities approve by ESOPE Manager
- Work with ESOPE Team Manager to créate anual activities plan
- Participate activites in/out PSE.
1. S/He is responsible for the program and its planning for the year. Ensures the development of activities and the number of scouts are in the target. Guarantees respect for the values of scouting adapted to the Khmer environment. S/He guarantees compliance with the budget.It reports to the ESOPE Team manager on the operation of the activities.
2. Team work
o Organize meetings before the activities to include the leaders in the week-end preparation
o Organize training for leaders to share with them the scout values and to improve their ability to manage the children
o Motivate the leaders and make them understand their key role within the program
3. Communication
o S/He represents and valorise scout program in intern
o S/He works closely with the admin to inform other PSE departments about the children concerned by the activities and about the camp location (Accomodation and Social department)
o Develop the communication outside PSE to find new camp sites and enable new partnerships (Phnom Penh Scout and other NGO’s that share our values)
o S/He support the scout facilitator to communicate within the scout group with leaders and youth about the coming activities and deal with day to day issues.
4. Activities organization:
o Find and contact a safe place to camp
o Prepare the activities in its entirety
o Prepare the educational content of the activities and make sure that it fits with the scout values
o Think the organization to welcome all students including disabled youth in the program
o Responsable about the youth safety at any times
5. Administrative tasks:
o Update the scout list of students attending the activities
o Write activities and annual reports
o Complete the monthly Dashboard
o Deal with purchase department for all material, food, bus and money requests by following PSE processes
o Establish and follow the stock (scout material)
- Good knowledge of scoutism and scout values
- 3 year min. experience with kids and teenagers
- Being able to work in a team
- Being open minded, adaptable and demanding
- Planning and coordinating skills
- Pack Office (Excel, Work, Power Point) skills
- Strong communication skill and high level of English
- Being commited in PSE’s vision and values
- Dedicate to children education and protection
