Quality, Pedagogy & Innovation Officer
Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) - For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, operating in Cambodia since 1995. Its mission is to help children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well-paid jobs.
Recognized by the local authorities, PSE is working in respect of the country with the Cambodians and thus supports sustainable development.
Six main programs – adapted to the needs of the children – have been developed: food, health, protection, education & schooling, vocational training and help for families.
PSE helps 7,000 children and 7,000 graduates from PSE Vocational Training program graduates have already successfully integrated the job market with a real qualified position. PSE employs more than 650 people in Cambodia (Phnom Penh mainly) and 8 staff at the headquarters in France. 500 volunteers in different countries are actively working on making the organization known through fundraising donations and sponsorships.
In 2000, PSE received the French Human Rights Prize from the French Republic.

S/he strengthens teacher capacity, supports pedagogical consistency, and promotes innovative practices that enhance learning
outcomes and educational quality.

- Teacher Development and Support
- Identify training and coaching needs in collaboration with Deans, Managers, and Teacher/Subject Team Leaders.
- Plan and implement capacity-building activities, including coaching, workshops, and seminars.
- Mentor and support teachers to improve lesson design, classroom delivery, and assessment practices.
- Participate in teacher recruitment and contribute to induction and onboarding training.
- Education Quality Assurance
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to improve teaching quality.
- Follow up on teacher action plans and monitor progress.
- Contribute to the development and use of tools for lesson observation, teacher self-evaluation, and performance monitoring.
- Support schools in aligning pedagogy with an Active Learning approach.
- Support and participate in education activities across all PSE schools and departments (including ECAP, Life Skills, Environment, and others) to maximize learning outcomes.
- Research and Implementation of Innovative Practices
- Act as a key member in leading the design, development, and piloting of innovative practices using a project-based approach.
- Collaborate with schools and other PSE departments to co-create and test new teaching and learning methodologies.
- Promote the integration of digital tools technology in classrooms and training programs.
- Research, document, and actively proposed new practices to apply in PSE.
- Provide technical support for education activities or projects across PSE.
Education
- Bachelors (Master is a plus) degree in Education, Pedagogy, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in teaching, training, or educational development
- Experience in coaching or pedagogical innovation is preferred.
Skills
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication in English and Khmer.
- Good analytical and planning skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, Google Workspace, and digital education tools.
Specific Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of active and competency-based learning approaches.
- Experience in classroom observation and teacher evaluation.
- Ability to integrate technology and innovative methods in teaching.
