Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) - For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, operating in Cambodia since 1995. Its mission is to help children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well-paid jobs.
Recognized by the local authorities, PSE is working in respect of the country with the Cambodians and thus supports sustainable development.
Six main programs – adapted to the needs of the children – have been developed: food, health, protection, education & schooling, vocational training and help for families.
PSE helps 7,000 children and 7,000 graduates from PSE Vocational Training program graduates have already successfully integrated the job market with a real qualified position. PSE employs more than 650 people in Cambodia (Phnom Penh mainly) and 8 staff at the headquarters in France. 500 volunteers in different countries are actively working on making the organization known through fundraising donations and sponsorships.
In 2000, PSE received the French Human Rights Prize from the French Republic.

The Subject Team Leader ensures high-quality teaching and learning within their subject area, aligning curriculum and pedagogy with MoEYS standards, integrating 21st-century skills, and fostering a culture of professional growth and collaboration among teachers. The role combines teaching responsibilities with leadership, curriculum development, assessment oversight, and internal quality assurance.
1. Teaching & Instruction
- Teach 10–15 hours per week.
- Ensure effective teaching methods and a positive classroom environment.
- Align subject curriculum with MoEYS standards in collaboration with Curriculum Specialist.
- Ensure the up-to-date subject contents for teachers and beneficiaries.
- Ensure the implementation of active learning pedagogy in all aspects.
- Develop and integrate supplementary resources, digital tools, and 21st-century skills.
- Integrate digital skills in the teaching and learning process.
- Develop an effective remedial syllabus to help slow learner students
- Support school/program manager to prepare class and school operation schedule
2. Teacher Support, Coaching & Development
- Observe, coach, and support teachers through formal observations, walkthroughs, and pop-ins.
- Facilitate professional development and mentoring to strengthen instructional practices.
3. Team Leadership & Culture
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
- Organize team activities to promote engagement and accountability.
- Lead classroom teaching and learning process
- Ensure the team’s well-being and spirit
4. Assessment & Academic Quality
- Oversee assessment design, data analysis, and alignment with curriculum standards.
- Design and coordinate assessments and semester process to ensure fairness and justice
- Lead PSE’s Internal Quality Assurance processes within the subject team.
- Report on academic performance and learning outcomes.
Develop and lead changes in the instruction and classroom practice according to the results of the assessment
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant subject area; Master’s preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in the subject area.
