Photo Exhibition and Screenings: For a Smile of the Future

For a Smile of the Future

Organised by the non-profit organization Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE), “For a Smile of the Future” opened on November 28 at the new Blueprint location in Two Taikoo Place, and runed until December 10.

Fifty years have passed since the fall of Phnom Penh to the Khmer Rouge, marking the beginning of one of the darkest chapters in modern history. Yet, Cambodia is on a path of healing, diligently working to rebuild and reimagine its future. Delving into the themes of memory, resilience, and hope, the artistic and cultural events of "For a Smile of the Future" pay tribute to the journey from tragedy to rebirth.

  • Curated by Iv Charbonneau-Ching, the exhibition “Through the Eye of the Storm” offers a poignant look at the fall of Phnom Penh, through the photographs taken by Roland Neveu, one of the few photojournalists to document this critical moment in 1975.

  • Cambodia After Farewell” is a documentary by Iv Charbonneau-Ching that chronicles a family's poignant return to Cambodia after years of struggle and exile.

  • Directed by Xavier de Lauzanne, “The Perfect Motion” explores the enduring practice of traditional Cambodian ballet in a society still bearing the scars of genocide.

All proceeds will be entirely donated to the association Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE).

The event is supported by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macao, Veolia, On the List and Blueprint.
