Families still in need in Cambodia

Impact of the health crisis on our families

In Cambodia, the economy is being severly impacted by the health crisis, and borders with neighbouring countries are closing.

The families who receive PSE's help, already in precarious situations, are really being hit hard. Many of them are no longer able to do the odd jobs they used to do to survive.

The drop in the country's economic activity has drastically lowered parent incomes, especially for those who work odd jobs such as vegetable or sellfish vendors or moto-taxi driving and factory work.

In addition, the PSE Centre has been closed since March 16, like all schools in Cambodia. Some parents have had to stop working to babysit their children.

"Every morning I go out to buy the ingredients and prepare the kebabs at my house. Around noon, I go out to sell them unitl everything is sold out. Before the virus arrived, I managed to sell everything before 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. Today, I sometimes wander until midnight, but I still can't sell everything. It's really difficult..." Kosal*

A solution adapted to the needs of families

Since the start of the crisis, many families have come to PSE for help. We then set up an emergency aid plan, based on their needs.

PSE has distributed:

  • Rice, a staple food for Cambodians,
  • Food care packages, consisting of eggs, canned fish, instant noodles and bottles of soy sauce
  • Aid for the payment of rents

The emergency aide is essential for families who will not be able to survive without them.

"Now I have only one hope: that the association can continue to help us so that the children have enough to eat" Sinek*

Together, let's help children and their families to not go hungry

We can act together on behalf of the poorest children in Cambodia and make sure that they do not go hungry.

Your donation of $30 per month for four months will allow us to maintain assistance until the start of the school year - you will be providing food to a family of five in the coming months.

Together, let's act to help the poorest!
