Physiotherapist
Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) - For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, operating in Cambodia since 1995. Its mission is to help children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well-paid jobs.
Recognized by the local authorities, PSE is working in respect of the country with the Cambodians and thus supports sustainable development.
Six main programs – adapted to the needs of the children – have been developed: food, health, protection, education & schooling, vocational training and help for families.
PSE helps more than 6,500 children and more than 6,000 graduates from PSE Vocational Training program graduates have already successfully integrated the job market with a real qualified position. PSE employs more than 650 people in Cambodia (Phnom Penh mainly) and 6 staff at the headquarters in France. 400 volunteers in different countries are actively working on making the organization known through fundraising donations and sponsorships.
In 2000, PSE received the French Human Rights Prize from the French Republic.

S/h responsible for enabling children with disabilities to access special education, develop skills for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and participate effectively in society. This role includes providing rehabilitation services, supporting students with disabilities, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with PSE policies and procedures. The Physiotherapist will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve accessibility, deliver treatments, and provide training.
1. Budget and Resource Monitoring
- Monitor and manage the budget that need to be spent base on plan and approval.
- Request, track, and ensure the quality and safety of materials.
- Participate in budget planning and monthly expense tracking and report it properly
2. Patient Care and Rehabilitation
- Assess and treat patients based on doctor’s prescriptions.
- Assess and provide rehabilitation services within PSE and in the community.
- Solve a problem, educate and motivate parents to support treatment plans.
- Re-assess to student deformity at least once per year.
- Facilitate hospital or rehabilitation center referrals when necessary.
- Report on recommendation of Hospital to doctor of PSE and Manager
3. Assistive Devices and Accessibility
- Train and assess to students and parents on proper use and maintenance of assistive devices.
- Monitor and maintain accessibility facilities (toilets, ramps).
4. Training and Collaboration
- Provide physical therapy training to parents and staff (if any).
- Supervise physiotherapy interns and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate support services and integration activities for students with disabilities.
- Work closely with relevance staff and parents dealing with difficult students.
5. Administrative Tasks
- Maintain accurate records and update patient’s progress in files and system regularly.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, mid-year, and annual reports.
- Monitor and update inventories of assistive devices and other materials.
Education
- Graduate Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree of Physiotherapy (ADP or BDP)
Experience
- One years and strong experience related with this work
- Prefer to have an experience in the following field of Physiotherapy technical for pediatric: Respiratory, Neurology, Musculoskeletal, How to using assistive device
Skills
- Can read and write in English /French
- Computer (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Social Media
