Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) - For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, operating in Cambodia since 1995. Its mission is to help children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well-paid jobs.

Recognized by the local authorities, PSE is working in respect of the country with the Cambodians and thus supports sustainable development.

Six main programs – adapted to the needs of the children – have been developed: food, health, protection, education & schooling, vocational training and help for families.

PSE helps more than 6,500 children and more than 6,000 graduates from PSE Vocational Training program graduates have already successfully integrated the job market with a real qualified position. PSE employs more than 650 people in Cambodia (Phnom Penh mainly) and 6 staff at the headquarters in France. 400 volunteers in different countries are actively working on making the organization known through fundraising donations and sponsorships.

In 2000, PSE received the French Human Rights Prize from the French Republic.

Job description:

The Chinese Teacher is responsible for delivering quality education to students whilst maintaining good classroom management, disciplines, safety and well-being of students.

Missions:
  • Make course outline, termly and weekly lesson plans for delivering quality education to students.
  • Develop and manage assessment under principal review and approval.
  • Conduct research to have more knowledge regarding contents and methodologies of effectives teaching.
  • Make sure the classroom setting and management is effective.
  • Make sure students are well behaved and disciplined.
  • Check student’s attendance, note their teaching progress and sign on the class attendance.
  • Deliver engaging and motivating lessons.
  • Create schemes of work and produce quality resources.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Attend the professional development programs the school may arrange.
  • Participate in technical meeting, staff annual meeting and school events.
  • Take active part in the on-going school improvement process.
  • Promote safety and well-being of all students.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the school principal and program manager.
     
Profile:
  • Bachelor degree in Education, Pedagogy, Teacher Training Development or similar field of study 
  • Experience in teaching with school and other institution of at least one year.
  • Good classroom management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-worers, supervisors, stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Demonstration of effective verbal, presentation and communication skills.
  • Fluency in Chinese is mandatory. 
  • Committed to the character development of children.
  • Is passionate about educating and nurturing young children.
  • Desires a rewarding and meaningful long-term career.
  • Hard working, motived, and well-groomed.
  • Positive attitude toward learning, problem solving, team work.
